Our verdict
A playful, sociable hotel on Music Row, with a rooftop pool and the best-designed small rooms in the city.
Virgin opened in 2020 at the top of Music Row, where the city's songs are still written and recorded. It is fun without being chaotic: a rooftop Pool Club, the Commons Club downstairs and clever two-zone rooms. You'll ride rather than walk to the honky-tonks, but for groups of friends who want a pool and a scene, it is excellent value.

The atmosphere

Virgin has a sense of humour, from the Funny Library coffee shop to the red details everywhere. The Commons Club is the social heart: a bar, a kitchen and the Shag Room, a semi-private cocktail lounge.
The crowd is lively and mixed, with plenty of birthday and hen groups at weekends. In winter the Pool Club becomes a lodge with fire pits, heaters and hot drinks.
