Union Station Hotel

AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION · BROADWAY AT NASHVILLE YARDS · NEXT TO THE FRIST

Union Station Hotel, Nashville Yards

Our verdict

The most beautiful lobby in Nashville, inside a 1900 railway station.

Pure atmosphere: turrets, stained glass and a 70-foot vaulted hall that once welcomed rail passengers. A recent multimillion-dollar renovation refreshed every room. Rooms are the most compact in our collection and there's no pool or spa, so you choose this for character rather than facilities.

What we arrange for you

  1. 01

We book a suite or a larger room

Standard kings are compact, so we show you what a suite adds and confirm exact layouts, since no two rooms match.

  2. 02

    We ask for original features

Arched windows and vaulted ceilings define the stay, so we request them.

  3. 03

Your first evening in the lobby

A table at ERGO, the lobby bar, beneath the stained glass.

  4. 04

We pair it with the Frist

A morning at the Frist Art Museum next door, lunch in the Gulch and your private BNA transfer.

The atmosphere

“Like stepping into a cathedral to the age of rail.”

The lobby rises some 70 feet to a vaulted ceiling with original stained glass, hand-moulded plaster, marble floors, oak-framed doors and limestone fireplaces. At night the hall glows and the lobby bar becomes the heart of the evening.

The Louisville & Nashville Railroad opened the station in 1900. Trains stopped in 1979, it fell into disrepair, and it reopened as a hotel in 1986. Romantic and storied, more boutique than grand. With The Hermitage, the most historic stay in Nashville.

DINING AND DRINKS

No hotel bar in Nashville has a setting to match

MOST OF THE DAY

Stationairy

Seasonal, responsibly sourced local cooking.

WORTH A VISIT EVEN IF STAYING ELSEWHERE

ERGO

The lobby bar: cocktails with Tennessee spirits and light bites beneath the stained glass.

IN CANDOUR

Accomplished rather than a destination; The Hermitage and The Joseph have the more serious dinners. And there's no pool or spa here: if those matter, look at the Four Seasons, The Joseph, the JW or the W.

Location

On Broadway at the gateway to Nashville Yards, the 19-acre development that includes the Grand Hyatt and new entertainment venues. The honky-tonks are at the other, eastern end of Broadway.

ON THE DOORSTEP

  • Frist Art Museum, next door
  • The Gulch, a few minutes south
  • Lower Broadway, the Ryman and Bridgestone Arena, 10–15 min
  • BNA airport, about 15 minutes by car
