OUR PICK FOR COUPLES
Deluxe Suite
~525–530 ft² · separate living room
A spa-style bathroom with a soaking tub. Our favourite upgrade for two.
A LUXURY COLLECTION HOTEL · SOBRO · NEXT TO MUSIC CITY CENTER

Our verdict
A museum-calibre art collection, a Forbes Four-Star Italian restaurant and a 21st-floor pool that takes in the whole skyline. A touch more design-led and a touch less resort-like than the Four Seasons next door. For couples who care about food, art and a view, it's often the better choice.

“Like being received in a private gallery whose owners love to entertain.”
The Pizzuti family, long-time collectors, conceived the hotel and filled it with more than 1,000 works. Art greets you at the entrance, in the lifts and on every guest floor, including a Tennessee Collection shown mostly in the rooms.
Copper, oak, warm marble and brown leather, with living green walls: sleek but warm. The crowd is stylish and a little younger than at the Four Seasons. Mornings are calm over espresso at Café Yolan; evenings move up to the roof.
Where the hotel's Music City personality shows

Where The Joseph outshines most of its peers
FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION
Forbes Four-Star Italian from Michelin-starred chef Tony Mantuano, touring Italy's regions with the seasons. Tasting menus or à la carte; Café Yolan by day.
AT SUNSET
The 21st-floor rooftop lounge around the pool, with craft cocktails, Italian and American plates and the whole skyline.
FOR A NIGHTCAP
An intimate, low-lit bar on Fourth Avenue.
HOW IT COMPARES
The Joseph and The Hermitage are the two hotels in the city where dinner in-house is a highlight rather than a convenience. Bacco at the Four Seasons is livelier; Yolan is the more accomplished kitchen.
21st floor, with cabanas, daybeds and uninterrupted views of the skyline and the river. More elegant private club than pool party.
How it compares: one of the highest hotel pools in the city, well above the Four Seasons (seventh floor); only the Westin's L27, 27 floors up, is higher. Smaller than the JW and W decks.
5,500 ft² on the top floor. Treatments start with a rose-infused foot ritual, with a relaxation room and a couples' room.
How it compares: larger than the JW's 4,000 ft² spa. Downtown, only 1 Hotel's Bamford spa rivals it as a reason to stay.
On the edge of SoBro beside Music City Center. A little further from the river than the Four Seasons, but closer to the Gulch and its restaurants.
ON THE DOORSTEP
Our choice for a romantic city break where food and design matter.
Yolan alone is worth the stay.
Without equal in Nashville.
Take the two 20th-floor suites and start the evening at Denim. Families are welcome too, though the Four Seasons suits them better.
Less suited to: river views from the room (try the Four Seasons), a lively pool scene (the W or the JW) or historic character (The Hermitage).
| Hotel | Choose it for | CHOOSE THE JOSEPH FOR |
|---|---|---|
| Four Seasons | River views, a slightly larger top suite, a calmer resort feel | Art, the better restaurant and the higher pool |
| The Hermitage | History and larger standard rooms | A pool, a spa and a contemporary high-rise view |
| W Nashville | A lively pool scene and a party atmosphere | A rooftop that feels like a private club |
It holds a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating for 2026, and Yolan is Forbes Four-Star too, putting it among the top hotels in Tennessee.
