Our verdict
The Renaissance is a large, well-run downtown hotel rather than a luxury destination. Its strengths are the location, a few minutes from the honky-tonks, an indoor pool that works year-round, and value for groups. Rooms are standard in size, but booking through Marriott Luminous adds breakfast and an upgrade when available.

“Straightforward, central and busy, the downtown base that gets you everywhere on foot.”
The Renaissance is a classic convention-district hotel, busy with groups and business travellers. Little Fib, its retro American restaurant, gives the ground floor some personality.
Built in 1987 and renovated in 2019, it is comfortable and practical rather than design-led.
Standard rooms, a great location.

It's a comfortable, upscale downtown hotel rather than a luxury one. For luxury, we'd suggest the Four Seasons, The Hermitage or The Joseph.
